Getting started
OasePark is a curated directory of urban green oases across the Netherlands — city parks, pocket gardens, forests, nature parks and botanical gardens in and around Dutch cities. You can browse and search the whole collection without an account; a free account lets you save favourites and suggest new spots.
The site is fully bilingual. Dutch-preferring browsers get the Dutch site automatically; everyone else gets English. Use the NL / EN toggle in the top-right of every page to switch, and your choice is remembered.
Browsing & searching
The home page lists every oasis as a card. Use the search box to match on a park's name, city or type, and use the two dropdowns to filter by city (Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Utrecht and more) or by type. Filters combine, and the result count updates as you refine. Press “Clear filters” to return to the full directory.
Park detail pages
Each park has its own page with a real photo (credited to its photographer under its Creative Commons or public-domain licence), a short description, a list of highlights, a “best for” suggestion, and an embedded OpenStreetMap showing exactly where to find it. Use “Open in OpenStreetMap” for directions.
Saving favourites
On any park page, press “Save to favourites” to keep it. Your favourites live on your dashboard at /favorites, so you can build a shortlist of the green spaces you want to visit. You'll be asked to log in the first time you save. Press the same button again to remove a favourite.
Suggesting a spot
Know a green oasis we're missing? Go to “Suggest a spot”, give its name, city, type and a sentence or two about why it's special. Suggestions are reviewed by our editors before they join the directory, and you can follow their status under “Your suggestions” on your dashboard.
Account & billing
Sign up with an email address and a password of at least 8 characters; sign in any time from “Log in”. OasePark's directory is free to use. Should we ever offer a paid plan, billing is handled by Website Holding B.V. as merchant of record — OasePark never sees or stores your card details. To close your account or request deletion of your data, contact us from the support page.
Troubleshooting
Map not loading? The OpenStreetMap embed needs a moment and a working connection — reload the page if it stalls. Can't log in? Make sure you're using the same email you signed up with; passwords are case-sensitive. A favourite or suggestion didn't save? Confirm you're logged in (your email shows in the top bar) and try again. Still stuck? Reach us from the support page and we'll help.
Frequently asked questions
Does OasePark cost anything?
No. Browsing the directory and creating an account to save favourites and suggest spots is completely free.
Do I need an account to browse?
No — search and browse freely. An account is only needed to save favourites and to suggest new parks.
How are parks chosen?
Every entry is hand-curated by our editors. Visitor suggestions are reviewed before they're added so the directory stays accurate and useful.
Where do the photos and maps come from?
Photos are sourced from Wikimedia Commons under Creative Commons or public-domain licences, with the photographer credited on each park page. Maps are from OpenStreetMap.
How do I delete my account?
Contact us from the support page and we'll delete your account and associated data, including favourites and suggestions.
