The Jac. P. Thijssepark is the most celebrated of Amstelveen's *heemparken* — gardens planted entirely with native Dutch wild flora. Designed from the 1940s, its narrow paths meander past water, ferns, marsh marigolds and towering perennials in an ever-changing seasonal display.
Best for: a free, contemplative walk and a lesson in ecological gardening.
